As I think about optimism, I think of all the sayings that promote it. So this blog will be devoted to many of those sayings in the hope of inspiring you to live life with positive thinking:

“Choose to be optimistic. It feels better.” The Dalia Lama

Every day may not be good, but there is good in every day.

Your attitude determines your direction.

Stop thinking of what could go wrong, and start thinking about what could go right.

“A pessimist is one who makes difficulties of his opportunities and an optimist is one who makes opportunities of his difficulties.”  Harry S. Truman

“Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts become your words.

What he thinks he becomes.
What he thinks he becomes

Keep your words positive because your words become your behaviors.  Keep your behaviors positive because your behaviors become your habits.  Keep your habits positive because your habits become your values.  Keep your values positive because your values become your destiny.”  Ghandi

Nothing is impossible. The word itself is “I’m possible.”

Tell the negative committee that meets inside your head to sit down and shut up.” Ann Bradford

One small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day.

“Optimism is a happiness magnet. If you stay positive, good things and good people will be drawn to you.”  Mary Lou Retton

Worrying won’t stop the bad stuff from happening. It just stops you from enjoying the good.

Turn your face towards the sun, and the shadows fall behind you.

And for a little fun, how about finishing these phrases:

When life gives you lemons…

Is the glass half empty or….

Don’t worry…

 I think I….

God give me the strength to change the things I can, to accept the things I can’t, and…

In God we….

…make lemonade

…half full.

…be happy.

…can.

…the wisdom to know the difference.

…trust.

And one more, from Lao Tzu of the Tao Te Ching:

Your thoughts....become your destiny.
Your thoughts….become your destiny.

“Be careful what you water your dreams with. Water them with worry and fear and you will produce weeds that choke the life from your dream. Water them with optimism and solutions and you will cultivate success. Always be on the lookout for ways to turn a problem into an opportunity for success. Always be on the lookout for ways to nurture your dream.”   ( find this and other quotes at:  https://www.goodreads.com/author/quotes/2622245.Lao_Tzu)
